Forbes.com just released their list of the highest-paid female athletes for the last year. The list names the top 10 female athlete earners and according to Forbes, their “figures cover June 2009 through June 2010 and include prize money, endorsements, appearance fees and exhibitions.”
Tennis hottie Maria Sharapova was the top money-maker in a list that is dominated by tennis players. They take up five of the total 10 spots available, with Serena and Venus Williams rounding out the top three and Jelena Jankovic and Ana Ivanovic among the top ten. Popular race car driver Danica Patrick is in the top five and golfers Paula Creamer, Annika Sorenstam and Lorena Ochoa, as well and figure skater Kim Nu-Ya finish the list.
